The Lubbock Christian School Theater Program is a dynamic and integral part of our Fine Arts community, offering students an opportunity to develop confidence, creativity, and collaboration through performance and production. Our talented students bring stories to life, excelling both on stage and behind the scenes.
The One Act Play (OAP) begins early in the fall semester, engaging a diverse team of artists and technicians. A successful production requires light and sound crews, set builders, costume and makeup specialists, prop coordinators, and a stage manager—not to mention our dedicated actors and actresses! Rehearsals take place in the evenings and on weekends, carefully scheduled to accommodate other LCS commitments.
The OAP competes in two prestigious competitions: the Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) competition in October and the Texas Christian Schools Interscholastic Tournament (TCSIT) in January. In addition to these competitions, the LCS Theater Program proudly presents community performances, giving students the chance to showcase their hard work and talent beyond the competitive stage.
More than just a performance opportunity, our theater program shapes students into confident, adaptable, and expressive individuals, providing an enriching experience that extends far beyond the stage. For more information about OAP or the Theater Program, please contact Ms. Whiting.
